In 24 days once around the world – admittedly it was much too short but the gained impressions, which remained with us, could also have been created during a one-year world trip.
Off we went from Zurich to San Francisco ...
ZURICH > SAN FRANCISCO
In San Francisco we visited the famous sights, including the famous Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 38 with its seals. Especially beautiful & relaxing is a visit to the Golden Gate Park, in which also a beautiful Japanese garden was integrated. You can easily spend half a day here.
From San Francisco we went to Hawaii ...
SAN FRANCISCO > HAWAII
… which for me is one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. Hawaii has something so magical with its colors and fauna!
Aloha
In Hawaii we were a few days on the island of Kauai, who loves nature with all its different facets, should definitely visit this island.
Waimea Canyon Park offers fascinating views of wild mountain ranges, deep canyons and waterfalls. It is also called the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” and is indeed a wonder of nature.
An interesting photo stop is a visit to the “Spouting Horn” on the south coast of Kauai. Due to the strong waves, lava rocks erode in narrow openings, sending fountains of water up to 15 meters high into the air.
Impressive is a helicopter tour, which is offered there by many providers. Here it is advisable to book this flight in advance, as the helicopter flights are well booked.
After Kauai, we went to lively Honolulu for a few more nights ...
HAWAII > KAUAI > HONOLULU
From Hawaii, the journey continued to the South Seas – a
Once in a lifetime place
Special tip: once a week Hawaiian Air offers a direct flight from Honolulu to Tahiti (flight time about 5 hours).
Tahiti, Morea, Bora Bora
HAWAII > SOUTH SEAS
Many tour operators offer a 7-day round trip to these islands, so you stay 2-3 nights on each of the different islands. Tahiti, the first island of the round trip did not really give us the experience of the South Seas with its landscape and hotels.
The island Morrea offers already clearly more South Seas feeling, but Bora Bora has been definitely the highlight on the whole South Seas round trip!
The island of Bora Bora – a jewel in the Pacific, already the approach to the island leaves the visitor speechless.
Even from the air you can see the snow-white sandy beaches, the turquoise lagoons, the mountains of volcanic origin, Mont Otemanu, with 727 meters the highest mountain of Bora Bora, directly followed by the second highest peak of Mont Pahia with 661 meters.
After the 7 -day South Seas trip, we continued with Tahiti Air via New Zealand to Sydney ...
SOUTH SEA > SIDNEY
In Sydney, in addition to the classic sights, you should definitely visit the great city zoo “Taronga”. Not only for the little ones a special highlight! The zoo is located on a hill and offers a great view of the city.
From Sydney, a day trip to the so-called “Blue Mountains” is recommended – the mountain range consists of extensive eucalypthus forests. The evaporation of the essential oil of the eucalypthus leaves creates a kind of mist, which makes the mountains appear in a bluish color, depending on the daylight. Also a visit to a koala bear farm was not to be missed during our short stay in Australia.
From Sydney we continued via a short stopover in Hong Kong back to Zurich.
A noble boutique hotel in the heart of Paris: the hotel staff are very warm hosts. The hotel director personally greets and says goodbye to each guest and also inquires ...
My top 10 restaurant recommendations. Moments of pleasure - always different experiences... exclusive cuisine in Europe's metropolises, lunch at the beach, a romantic candlelight dinner by the lake or a fine cheese fondue in the mountains.
A lunch at the beach club, a cocktail party in the evening - definitely stylish & chic!
