A visit to the Arena of Verona is certainly a special highlight for every opera lover, but it is definitely worth a visit for the non-typical opera goers as well.

The Arena of Verona is an ancient Roman amphitheater that can hold up to 22,000 visitors, making it the third largest amphitheater in the world.
Every year, between June and September, traditional opera performances and other concerts are held here as part of the Opera Festival. On the upper tiers, you should bring your own seat cushion for better seating comfort. In the lower area, which is seated, one sees in particular in the first rows the gentlemen partly still in tuxedo and the ladies in chic evening dresses.
A visit to the Verona Arena can be wonderfully combined with a stay at Lake Garda, the largest lake in northern Italy.

Personal tip
Overnight at Villa Cortine, room no. 150 – double room in the historical wing (there are only a few rooms in the historical wing), great room with lake view and beautiful old furniture, marble bathroom and an impressive Murano glass chandelier on the ceiling.
