La Dolce Vita in Ticino
Anyone who thinks Switzerland is only known for peaks, glaciers and grand hotels has not yet heard of the Hotel Eden Roc in Ascona. Nestled between rolling hills and located directly on beautiful Lake Maggiore, it is a Mediterranean paradise – an exclusive beach resort that combines Swiss precision with Italian joie de vivre.
Anyone longing for peace, style and a Mediterranean atmosphere will find a place here that inspires, decelerates and pampers – perfect for a long weekend or an extended summer vacation. The most beautiful stretch of coast awaits you in Ascona – in the middle of Switzerland!
Beach club feeling thanks to colorful design by Carlo Rampazzi
The new lounge furniture, created by interior designer Carlo Rampazzi, exudes the Italian attitude to life that characterizes this region!
Carlo Rampazzi based the design of the new lounge furniture on the Pontile on old ceramic paintings from the Ascona ceramics factory. The new lounge furniture not only looks lively, but also carries a piece of history from Ascona.
A private beach, framed by shady palm trees, welcomes guests with relaxed elegance. With its own boat harbor and in-house water sports school, the Eden Roc turns the water into an experience. Whether sailing, wakeboarding, water skiing, banana boating or stand-up paddling. Lake Maggiore is theplace to be for everyone who loves the water!
With over 10,000 square meters of lovingly tended gardens, three pools and a 500-meter-long lake front, the Eden Roc is one of the most spectacular retreats in Switzerland.
The mild climate in Ticino ensures a vacation feeling all year round – without flying to the Mediterranean!
The 95 individually designed rooms and suites are flooded with light and colorful – each a small work of art in itself, also created by renowned Swiss interior designer Carlo Rampazzi. Elegant materials and bright colors skillfully set the scene for the rooms. The new exterior façade resembles a delicate sailing yacht gliding gently over the glittering waves of Lake Maggiore. The large window fronts and modern glass balustrades of the expansive balconies showcase the unique panoramic view over the glittering blue of the lake.
In addition to relaxation, movement plays a central role: the hotel’s own “Moving Mountains” program combines activity with mindfulness. Whether it’s hiking, yoga, healthy cuisine or nature experiences – wellbeing is considered holistically here. The hotel’s own water sports school invites you to go kayaking, paddle boarding and sailing, while the surrounding valleys and charming Ticino villages entice you with culture, culinary delights and countless hiking trails. Together with the hotel’s own outdoor butler, you can discover many beautiful hiking routes.
An excursion to the nearby Maggia Valley, the famous Ponte Brolla bridge or the wild Onsernone Valley should definitely be on the “hot list” of activities in Ticino. If you need a little more thrill, you should plan a hike to the Tibetan suspension bridge near Carasc, which at 270 meters is also the longest suspension bridge in Switzerland.
Hidden away in the west of Ticino lies the Valle Onsernone – a valley full of wild beauty and an inspiring atmosphere. Mighty forests, rushing torrents and deep gorges characterize this secluded landscape. The landscape resembles the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Despite its remoteness, the valley is easily accessible via a narrow, winding road.
The road winds its way to the village of Spruga, passing charming villages nestled on sunny terraces on the mountain slopes. The small local villages will delight you with their traditional, original architecture.
Today, as in the past, the valley is a retreat for people in search of peace and inspiration. Thanks to its inspiring atmosphere, the Valle Onsernone has always attracted artists and writers from all over the world. The unspoiled nature and authenticity of the region create an atmosphere that allows creativity to flourish.
Hiking enthusiasts will find a true paradise here. Well-marked trails lead through dense forests, across alpine meadows and up to panoramic peaks – always accompanied by the feeling of being on a Hawaiian island.
Those who prefer a trip on the water should take the hotel’s own Riva Boat for a spin to the island of Brissago.
